The department provides a significant part of the educational activities in the bachelor's and master's study programme in Building Constructions and the doctoral study programme Theory and Structures of Buildings. The team of the department also participates in educational activities in other bachelor's, master's and doctoral study programmes of the faculty in subjects focused on architecture, urban planning, infrastructure and structures of building engineering. The scientific research activities of the department are oriented towards research, theory and creation of new progressive building constructions, building physics problems of building envelopes, laboratory testing of windows and covering of buildings from various materials in real climate conditions. The department's cooperation with professional practice in solving research and design tasks is also significant.
