Applications Still Open – Apply by 14 August 2026

The Dean of Faculty of Civil Engineering UNIZA announces that he is accepting applications for Ph.D. studies for academic year 2026/2027. More informations can be found here.

The Faculty of Civil Engineering is excited to welcome new international students for the upcoming Summer Semester 2025/2026. This semester, we are happy to host students from our French partner institutions: the University of Orléans (Polytech Orléans), École des Ingénieurs de la Ville de Paris (EIVP), UTTOP Tarbes, and CESI.

As part of an informal Welcome Meeting, students will meet their Erasmus coordinator, who will help them settle in at the faculty, introduce courses, explain faculty life, and guide them through practical matters such as getting an  ISIC card. Besides the “study talk,” there will also be time to learn more about 🌍 life in Žilina and to discover a bit more about Slovakia.

Matúš Šaray from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Žilina achieved excellent results in the Slovak University Startup Cup 2025. As the leader of the student startup Dynamic Drone Traffic Signalisation, he won in the category Industrial Technologies, Technical Solutions, Robotics and also received the BMW Slovakia Innovation Award.

The startup introduces a unique solution – dynamic traffic signalling using drones in high-risk road situations (such as ambulance passage or traffic accidents). It is a technologically innovative system with no equivalent in Slovakia or abroad.

We are happy to congratulate Matúš on this important award and wish him the best of luck in further developing his project.
