BASIC INFORMATION:
Following recommendations for educational institutions provided by the Slovak Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, as well as information provided by the World Health Organization, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus COVID-19 and protect our community members well-being, the following steps are undertaken at the University of Žilina:
WHAT IS A CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)?
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a new strain that was discovered in 2019 and has not been previously identified in humans.
Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).
HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF?
- Wash your hands frequently.
- Maintain social distancing at least 2 meters.
- Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
- Stay informed and follow the advice given by your healthcare provider.
- If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early.
