Science and Research

  • Department Research Activities

The department's research focuses primarily on thermal protection of buildings, advanced building structures, building pathology, historical timber structures and new trends in architectural design. The department has established a pavilion-type experimental laboratory for the study of advanced building envelope systems under real conditions and is currently expanding its instrumentation. The department also conducts experiments in a climatic chamber system, allowing the testing of various samples of envelope or infill structures.

The department’s staff regularly participate in APVV and VEGA research projects, KEGA educational projects, UNIZA projects, projects of Slovak state institutions and, last but not least, international projects.
