CEE is a scientific-technical journal which includes new reserved articles with relation to architecture, civil engineering, transport structures, environmental engineering, building materials, technology management and their branches.

Journal was founded by the faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Žilina, Slovakia on 5 October 2004.

CEE issues two times a year. Civil and Environmental Engineering is a single-blind peer-reviewed journal.

20th anniversary

Dear authors, readers and friends of the journal Civil and Environmental Engineering,

Our journal celebrates its 20th anniversary. The journal Civil and Environmental Engineering – CEE was founded by the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Žilina on October 5, 2004. The first issues of the journal were published in Slovak, and eventually the faculty decided to publish articles in English. Until recently, the journal was also published in print, but it is currently published only online by Sciendo. The journal enjoys great interest and offers the opportunity to publish research results in various thematic areas such as Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering, Geotechnics, Transport and Environment, Environmental Engineering and others. It is indexed in various databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, and others, while enjoying growing metrics thanks to high-quality articles of global importance. In the previous period, several changes were made, starting with a new journal logo and creating a new website, and in September 2024 a new editorial system was introduced. We hope that these changes will be positive and will increase the attractiveness of the journal for authors, readers and reviewers.

Many thanks go to the previous and current editorial office of CEE, which has contributed to the world-wide reputation of our journal. We also thank the thematic editors, the editorial board of the journal and the reviewers of articles, who ensure professional supervision over the quality of published outputs.

We hope for a growing interest in our journal Civil and Environmental Engineering, in which the published articles will contribute to the development of civil engineering and its related fields in the world and will spread the good name of our university and faculty.

Next Issue of CEE journal is already published: Volume 20, Issue 2.

The Editorial Office of the Civil and Environmental Engineering journal has decided to increase the article processing charge (APC). From January 1, 2025, the fee for publishing an article will be 738 Eur. The Editorial Office of the journal is trying to gradually increase the quality of the services provided, which brings with it increased costs for the processing, review and publishing articles, the number of which is growing significantly. We believe that the journal will retain its quality and will appeal to new authors who will want to publish their research in the thematic areas of our journal.
