Department profile
The department provides teaching of subjects in the field of geology and geotechnics (geology, engineering geology, hydromechanics and hydrology, geomechanics, soil mechanics, foundation of structures, underground structures) and other elective subjects. During their studies, students will become familiar with the rock environment of the subsoil of transport and environmental structures, its physical and mechanical properties, the processes taking place in it, as well as its rational use and protection. The scientific, research and professional activities of the department are oriented towards current problems of construction practice, especially special geotechnical survey, design and monitoring of structures in complex engineering-geological conditions using new technologies.
